EPA’s Goals & Mission Statement

At Elite Preparatory Academy, we strive for academic excellence. Chromebooks
Chromebooks are assigned to every student (both face-to-face and Distant Learning) for the duration of the academic school year. Chromebooks are property of EPA and must be cared for properly. Chromebooks must be returned at the end of the academic school year and for all school vacation breaks. Damaged Chromebooks that include but are not limited to, cracked screen, scuffed surface, missing keys, and impaired software, are subject to repair fees. For more information regarding EPA’s expectations of Chromebook usage and care, please request a copy of the Chromebook Contract at the time of your endorsement. Chromebook contracts are required to be reviewed and acknowledged before your student(s) receive one.
EPA constitutes a digital curriculum. Each student’s Book Fee, accounts the cost of licensing, maintenance, and implementation of student Chromebooks. Book Fees for students K-6th: $250 & 7th-12th: $375. Book Fees must be paid in full by the start of the second academic quarter. Payment plans and Financial Aide are available.

Attendance
Attendance is mandatory

Assists in students visualizing education as an important virtue.
Students that attend school consistently, are more likely to succeed in academics

Excused absences
when seen by a doctor, death in family, family emergency has proof and can provide copy for administrative records will be able to make-up missed coursework/exams
Unexcused absence
overslept, going to Disney World, etc.

Illness policy
EPA’s illness policy has recently changed. EPA mandates that any student who shows symptoms of an illness, remain at home and be temporarily transferred to Distant Learning. Symptoms include, but are not limited to, fever, chills, coughing, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, muscle/body aches, headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, congestion, runny nose, excessive sneezing, loss of taste/smell, sore throat, diarrhea, Conjunctivitis (pink eye), etc.
It is our goal at Elite Preparatory Academy to prevent the spread of illness and provide a safe & healthy environment conducive to learning for our students.
EPA reserves the right to visually assess and/or evaluate any student should signs or symptoms become present or evident. EPA also reserves the right to issue an early dismissal of a student should administration deem displayed signs/symptoms as a risk to the health and safety of other students or staff.
If administration issues an early dismissal due to signs or symptoms relating to an illness, it is the sole responsibility of the parent/guardian(s) to devise pick-up arrangements
By electing the Face-to-face learning option for your student(s), parent/guardian(s) assume all responsibility of child in the unlikely event of acquired illness or viral infection.

Tardy Policy
Elite Preparatory Academy’s Tardy Policy states that the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of any student that accrues 3 unexcused tardies, be assessed a $25 Tardy Fees applicable to both Face-to-face and Distant Learning students.

Drop-off/Pick-up policy
All students who are not part of Before Care, may begin arriving to school at 8:30AM. EPA mandates that students that arrive before 8:30AM, remain in their vehicle and/or within the care of their parent/guardian. School doors do not open until 8:30AM.
Students that walk to school and arrive before 8:30AM, may wait outside EPA’s main campus but are not within the care of EPA. EPA does not supervise and is not responsible for students that arrive early.
For car riding students during drop-off and pick-up, we ask that all parents/guardians abide by EPA’s Car Loop line policies and etiquette.

EPA does not dismiss students for Early Dismissal after 2:15PM. Any parent/guardian that attempts to walk onto campus after 2:15PM, will kindly be asked to return to their vehicle and join the Car Loop line. Students will NOT be dismissed to parents that do not participate in Car Loop during dismissal pick-up time.
All walking students will be dismissed through EPA’s patio double doors. Any walking parents that would like to wait for the dismissal of their student(s), may do so at EPA’s Patio area.

Uniforms Policy
Seeks to promote an atmosphere productive to work and advances a greater awareness of successful dress

Uniforms must be worn in good repair & manner intended
Upkeep and cleanliness are required
Students are not to wear non-uniform jackets on campus
During cold weather, students may wear non-uniform jackets ONLY when arriving and leaving
Burgundy zip-up hoodie w/ embordered EPA logo are available for $35 (includes student’s embordered name)
Rental uniforms are issued to any student who is not in complete compliance with EPA’s dress code

Each uniform item available for rental, are $2.00/ea. Parents credit card on file will be charged for this. All uniform rentals must be turn back over to EPA for the departure of student

Discipline/Behavioral Policy
For more information of EPA’s Discipline and behavior policy, please refer to EPA’s Code of Conduct on the EPA app.

Student’s that pose a behavior burden to the productivity of an EPA classroom will be transitioned to Distant Learning at the discretion of EPA’s administration.

Credit card policy
All parents must have a credit card on file. Cards will be charged for reasons that include, but are not limited to, student forgetting his/her lunch or lunch money, uniform rentals, Tardy Fees, late scholarship funding endorsment., etc.

Scholarships
The EPA policy for students on a scholarship has recently changed. Students with a Step-up, McKay, Gardner, AAA, or Family Empowerment scholarship, cannot begin the academic school year without a current award letter.
EPA will notify parents through the EPA app when scholarship funding arrives to campus. Scholarship checks must be endorsed within 2 days of their arrival.
A $25 late fee will be assessed for checks that are NOT endorsed withing 2 business days

Lunch Policy
Hot school lunches are available during your student’s lunch period. Lunches must be ordered and paid for by the beginning of each school day. Lunches are prepared based on order volume. If a student forgets his/her lunch and does not have lunch money, parent’s card will be charged, and student will be provided lunch. The provided lunch for students may include what is listed on the school lunch menu or a secondary alternative.
It is the sole responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide and/or ensure student arrives to school with lunch or lunch money

Before and After Care
Before and After Care are are additional services offered for students that include a cost. Before and/or aftercare are not included with a scholarship.

For parents that are interested in Before and/or After Care, prices vary based on student’s grade level. Please inquire at the front desk.

After Care hours are from 3PM-6PM

Visitor Policy
..All visitors to EPA’s campus must sign-in at EPA’s main lobby. Guests that include, but are not limited to, parents, guardians, family members, third-party therapeutic service personnel, etc., are required to provide a valid U.S. ID for recordkeeping. Per EPA’s safety guidelines for on-sight visitors, each ID is scanned through an extensive national database that detects at-risk visitors and rejects admission access. All visitors must receive clearance in order to proceed in the visiting process.

Cell Phones and Personal Belongings Policy
EPA understands the importance of communication from parent to student and thus recognizes the merit of a student-owned cellphone. Cellphones that are brought onto campus, must be completely powered down and concealed during the academic school day. EPA constitutes a no-cellphone policy during school hours. EPA is not responsible for the loss or damage of any electronic device that includes, but are not limited to, cellphones, tablets, personal laptops, music playing devices, headphones, etc.
Should a parent require to contact a student during school hours, EPA mandates that parents contact the school to arrange communication.
The bringing-of any toys, tablets, portable video game devices, etc., are completely prohibited. EPA is not responsible for the loss or damage of any personal property of belongings.
